MaSTER FRAME® Method, Method is an innovative structural reinforcement technique developed in Japan as a result of long R&D studies.In this method, structure is strengthened against earthquakes by attaching additional reinforced concrete frames to the existing structural system of the building, and this process continues while the building is used on daily basis.

Advantages of MaSTER FRAME®
Since the reinforcement is made from the outside of the building, construction staff do not have to enter the building. Retrofitting work can be performed while the use of the structure continues.
Special anchors (MaSTER Disk-Ankraj®) are used; thus noise, dust and vibration are reduced during the construction work.
It is a cost competitive system compared to the existing shear wall reinforcement method.

What Does MaSTER FRAME® Enable?

Shorter Construction Period and Reduced Noise, Dust and Vibration:
It is applied without damaging the existing structural system (columns, shears, beams, etc.) and demolishing the building. Thus, retrofitting work is performed without reducing the load - bearing capacity of the existing structure.
Architectural repair is not necessary as the existing structural system is not damaged. The financial burden of re-construction of the walls and related finishing and mechanical works is eliminated.
Retrofitting work is independent from finishing works (if there are such works that must be performed inside the building). This brings flexibility to the compulsory architectural repair (finishing works) schedule: It can be carried out in parallel with the retrofitting, or it can be divided into periods that will not disrupt the function of the building.
MaSTER Disk-Ankraj® is a special anchor (post-install type adhesive/bonded anchor) under patent protection and is a key material of the MaSTER FRAME® method. In addition to high shear strength and high performance in low strength concretes, fewer anchors are used in comparison to conventional anchors, providing economic and fast solution.

Shear Strength of MaSTER Disk-Ankraj®
MaSTER Disk-Ankraj® is a patented special anchor (post-install type adhesive/bonded anchor) and has high shear strength even in low-strength concretes. MaSTER Disk-Ankraj® Installation
Contrary to the hammer drilling used in the installation of conventional anchors, for the installation of MaSTER Disk-Ankraj®, the holes are drilled in the existing structural members by special diamond bit core drilling machines, and the work is completed without damaging the existing structural members during installation. With a low embedment length starting from 160 mm, hammer drilling is not necessary unlike conventional anchors.

In addition to the MaSTER FRAME® method, MaSTER Disk-Ankraj® is also used as a fastening element in the assembly of the retrofitting members used to strengthen the structures to the existing building. Especially where there is an effective transfer of shear force in the anchorage of the retrofitting members to the structural system of the existing building, MaSTER Disk-Ankraj® provides secure connections by shorter embedment length and fewer installations.
